Alan Thiese - BCA #37442
It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Alan Thiese. Alan was the founding member of the Inland Northwest Chapter of the Buick Club of America.
Alan was born in Flint, Michigan and worked for Buick Motor Division for 36 years. Alan started on the assembly line in Flint. He shared many stories with the Chapter about his career at Buick. He remembers installing the switches in the consoles of the new Rivieras as they went down the assembly line. He moved to the engine lab and worked there for a time. He was also involved in the Reatta assembly process, and worked on the mechanical side of some concept cars.
Alan moved on to various zone sales and service management positions. We remember his stories of Buick Regal Turbo coupes used by federal agencies in the New York – New Jersey area.
The Thiese's eventually moved back to Flint where Alan accepted a management position with Buick Customer service.
Alan is survived by Sandy, his wife of 60 years, two daughters, a son, and 10 grandchildren.
